I’m the kind of person who tends to go, “PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY, TAKE ALL OF IT” when I love something and want to support it.
So even though anyone can read most of this book for free on the blog it originated from, I really really REALLY REALLY wanted a physical copy as a broke ass teenager – even if it meant starving for a day.
It was just that good.
If tanks and cute 2D girls duking it out are your thing, you’ll love Goddess Kiss by Flero Games. And if they aren’t? This mobile game you’ve never heard of might just change your mind.
A strategy RPG at its core, Goddess Kiss first grabs your attention with its cast of pretty girls, each of whom pilots her own unique mech unit. You recruit, train and outfit these girls to build specialised teams of doom, destroy various PVE and PVP modes and claim your rightful title as King Overlord of Pilot Waifus.
Although Granblue Fantasy’s English patch is reaaaally old news to the foreign gaming community, it seems to have slipped under the radar for many others. Which is a pity, since it’s a spectacular game that really lives up to its hype. Now that it’s available in English, definitely check it out if you’re into J-style RPGs – it takes all of a minute to get started on PC!
At a glance, Sailor Moon Drops looks just like a re-skinned Candy Crush Saga. Perfect for train delays and extended family gatherings – what better time to jump in on all that match-3 action? Honestly, I’d be lying if I said I’d ever played a match-3 that isn’t named Puzzle Quest outside of those scenarios.
Now, here’s the conundrum. I’m not a fan of Candy Crush and I never did watch Sailor Moon as a kid, given my ten-year-old self’s all-consuming conviction that Cardcaptor Sakura was the superior mahou shoujo. And so…I’d really like to know why I can’t put this game down, please.
Rise of Bahamut, Shadowverse’s new expansion, introduces 105 new cards along with an Enhance ability to deepen strategic play and lay waste to whatever meta was running rampant up till now. Each of the seven classes has a gorgeous new Legendary card. There’s also a bunch of less shiny things going on, but we don’t care about that as much.
Big news: Cygames is encouraging participation by giving away 10 Rise of Bahamut card packs to any players who complete the initial tutorial by March 29, 2017. Chances are good you’ll pull a couple of these, so get cracking!
